Reality Check is the first solo exhibition by photographer James Audsadang (Audsadang Satsadee), curated by Arc Tribe, taking place from September 6–28, 2025 at Payaq Gallery Café & Bar, Bangkok.
Known for his energetic street photography, James takes a new direction in this series, stepping away from chaotic everyday life and into a dreamlike calmness. Reality Check captures the fragile boundary between truth, memory, and imagination. The work invites audiences to pause and consider: are we awake, or are we dreaming?
The exhibition’s title comes from a practice used by lucid dreamers — a technique to distinguish between reality and dreams. In these photographs, James embraces that ambiguity. While quieter and more contemplative than his previous works, each image holds a strange displacement, resembling moments from a dream where things are not quite in the right place.
About the Artist
Audsadang Satsadee (James), born in 1996 in Sa Kaeo, Thailand, works as a dental assistant while pursuing his passion in photography. He began in 2017 with nothing more than a mobile phone, and soon realized that photography for him is not about documentation, but about capturing emotions. He believes that “the ordinary moments in people’s lives, when observed with care, reveal something truly special.”
About the Curator
Arc Tribe is an online magazine and creative platform founded in 2021. With a strong focus on visual art, it supports emerging artists through publications, workshops, and exhibitions. Its community-based approach emphasizes growth through shared journeys between artists and audiences.

Reality Check คือนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกของช่างภาพ เจมส์ อัษฎางค์ สัตสดี จัดแสดงโดย Arc Tribe ระหว่างวันที่ 6–28 กันยายน 2568 ณ พยัคฆ์ แกลเลอรี่ คาเฟ่ แอนด์ บาร์ กรุงเทพฯ
จากผลงานภาพถ่ายสตรีทที่เต็มไปด้วยชีวิตชีวา เจมส์เลือกที่จะก้าวออกจากความคุ้นเคย มาสู่พื้นที่ใหม่ที่สงบนิ่งและชวนให้ตั้งคำถาม ผลงานชุด Reality Check สำรวจเส้นบาง ๆ ระหว่าง “ความจริง ความทรงจำ และจินตนาการ” ราวกับชวนผู้ชมทดสอบตัวเองว่า “ตอนนี้เรากำลังตื่นอยู่ หรือกำลังฝันไป?”
ชื่อซีรีส์นี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากเทคนิคของผู้ที่ฝึก lucid dream ใช้เพื่อตรวจสอบว่าตนเองอยู่ในโลกจริงหรือในความฝัน ภาพถ่ายในชุดนี้จึงเต็มไปด้วยความคลุมเครือ แม้จะสงบและเรียบง่ายกว่า แต่กลับซ่อนความแปลกผิดธรรมชาติ เหมือนฉากในฝันที่สิ่งต่าง ๆ ไม่ได้อยู่ในที่ที่ควรอยู่
เกี่ยวกับศิลปิน
อัษฎางค์ สัตสดี (เจมส์) เกิดปี พ.ศ. 2539 ที่จังหวัดสระแก้ว ปัจจุบันทำงานเป็นผู้ช่วยทันตแพทย์ และเริ่มต้นถ่ายภาพตั้งแต่ปี 2560 ด้วยกล้องโทรศัพท์มือถือ สำหรับเขา “การถ่ายภาพไม่ใช่เพียงการบันทึกเหตุการณ์ แต่คือการบันทึกความรู้สึก” เขาเชื่อว่า “เรื่องธรรมดาในชีวิตของผู้คน หากเราหยุดมองด้วยความใส่ใจ ก็จะเห็นความพิเศษที่ซ่อนอยู่”
เกี่ยวกับผู้จัดแสดง
Arc Tribe ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2564 ในฐานะแพลตฟอร์มและแมกกาซีนออนไลน์ที่มุ่งนำเสนอผลงานของศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ โดยเฉพาะในสายทัศนศิลป์ ผ่านการตีพิมพ์ การจัดเวิร์กช็อป และนิทรรศการ ภายใต้แนวคิดแบบ community-based ที่เน้นการเติบโตร่วมกันระหว่างศิลปินและผู้ชม
